Tips for Writing Quality Blog Content

If you manage a blog, you are well aware that quality content is needed. For many, this comes naturally. Of course, there are many others who have no idea what it means to produce quality blog content. With the following tips you should be able to get on the right track in no time at all:

1. Your content does not have to be perfect. As a freelance writer, this is hard to say. But when it comes to a blog the content does not always have to be error free. This is not to say that you should write “junk” but you do not need to stress over every last detail. If you are offering knowledge and helpful information your readers will come back time and time again; even if there are some errors here and there.

2. Stay focused. What is the main topic of your blog? For instance, if you run a freelance writing blog, stick to this niche so that readers know what they are getting. The best blog content from a reader’s point of view is on topic and full of information.

3. Speaking of information, make sure that your blog posts say something. In other words, do not ramble on and on if you have nothing to say. Instead, plan each post, stay on topic, and say what you need to say. In the end, this will help to ensure that your content is easy to read and enjoyable.

These three tips may not seem like much, but they will go a long way in helping you to produce quality content for your blog.

Garry Conn dot Com Blog Content Review

Today, I am going to review the content of Garry Conn dot Com. And before I get too deep into this review, let me tell you one thing: Garry Conn knows how to produce high quality content. This has been one of my favorite blogs for many months, and anybody who wants to “Learn how to Make Money Online with a Blog” should consider subscribing.

Readability

As noted above, Garry Conn dot Com is full of high quality content. And this all starts with the readability. As you move through the posts you will find that all of them are simple to understand, but not simple in nature. In other words, Conn does a great job offering information, sometimes full of complex details, in an easy to read format. This is perfect for both professionals and amateurs alike.

Quality

What does quality blog content look like? Instead of me trying to explain this in detail, why not head to Garry Conn dot Com and take a look yourself? For instance, one of my favorite posts, due to the quality, is “How to Speed up your WordPress Blog.” This post may not be the longest, but it is packed full of useful tips backed up by personal experience.

Length

The post mentioned above is just about 300 words. While this post is on the short side, Conn did a great job packing in plenty of useful information. Of course, not all the posts on Garry Conn dot Com are this short. You will find that many of them push 1,000 words. One thing that I noticed about the content is this: Conn uses as many words as necessary to get his point and/or lesson across. From there, he leaves well enough alone.

Focus

As the tagline says, Garry Conn dot Com focuses on teaching others how to make money online with a blog. This is all the rage in today’s day and age, and learning from a professional like Garry Conn is a great way for any newbie to get off on the right foot. You can expect information on everything from building an opt-in list to details on the type of “jobs” that he works on. For the most part, every post is related to making money online in one way, shape, or form.

Frequency

Some blogs are updated daily, others weekly, and others somewhere in between. But Garry Conn dot Com is a bit different than every other blog out there. On some days, this blog is updated three times or more. This may sound like a bad idea, but when you can produce quality content like Conn, it works out just fine. This high level of posting frequency is one of the main reasons that Garry Conn dot Com has become one of my favorite blogs.

Garry Conn knows his stuff when it comes to making money online, and has no problem sharing his knowledge through quality blog posts.

The Net Fool Blog Content Review

The Net Fool is one of those make money online blogs that has taken off as of late. Although the blog just got its start in October 2007, it has already become an authority site within this niche. Although The Net Fool was originally meant to be a stock market blog, the author decided to move in the direction of teaching others how to make money online. And after you read through a few posts, you will learn two things: The Net Fool is full of useful information that anybody can experiment with. The quality of the content is quite good. Both of these benefits are reasons why I have become an avid reader of The Net Fool over the past few weeks.

Readability

The readability factor is something that every blog owner in the make money online niche should be concerned with. It is obvious that the author of The Net Fool believes in this as well. Take for example the post “The Net Fool Dot Com Earnings Call.” This post is full of both content and income stats. And despite the fact that there is so much information, I found it easy to read through it from top to bottom without delay. To go along with this, the post was interesting and informative at the same time. After all, readability is a moot point if the content has nothing to offer.

Quality

You do not have to be a genius (or a professional writer) to realize that the quality of the content on The Net Fool is solid. Each post, no matter what it entails, is written with quality in mind. From the About page you will see that the author is a student at Penn State University. Penn State is a top notch university, and it is obvious that they teach students how to write effective, quality content.

Length

The post mentioned above, The Net Fool Dot Com Earnings Call, is approximately 1,300 words. And while I usually feel that longer blog posts can be a deterrent, this is not the case with The Net Fool. The reason for this is simple: the author does not go on-and-on with useless information. Instead, every word is an important one. Most posts are not this long, but many of them are close to 1,000 words. As long as the author continues with quality information, there is nothing wrong with longer posts.

Focus

The Net Fool was originally intended to focus on the stock market. And while the author does touch on this subject from time to time, most posts are focused on making money online. The Net Fool goes beyond the “usual topics” of making money online, and also offers information on “get paid to” sites. This works out well from an audience point of view because the blog does not focus only on one area, it goes above and beyond. By mixing up the information, The Net Fool can attract a wide audience. After all, not everybody earns money online the same way.

Frequency

You do not have to worry about the frequency of posts on The Net Fool. Generally speaking, you can expect at least one post per day. Of course, there are some days when the author posts more than once and others when there is no new content at all. But for the most part, you can expect at least once piece of fresh content every day.

If you are looking to read a make money online blog that has a lot to offer in terms of quality and daily updates, you will want to add The Net Fool to your RSS reader.

The University Kid Blog Content Review

Although I try to keep up to date on the best content in the “make money online” niche, there are times when a blog or two will slip through the cracks. This is definitely what happened to me when it comes to The University Kid. Although I just started to read this blog a couple of weeks ago, I have found it to be quite useful. In fact, it has quickly become one of my favorite make money online blogs for a number of reasons. And as you can imagine, one of the biggest reasons is the content.

Readability

Jason Pereira is the owner and main author of The University Kid. And while he does accept guest posts, from what I can see, all of them are of high quality; just like the regular content that is posted. As far as readability is concerned, The University Kid is spot on for the most part. While I have found some typos and grammar mistakes here and there, this is to be expected. After all, the blog focuses on making money online; not on the English language. When reading this blog you will find it easy to move from one post to the next thanks to an easy to read format, simple language, and an overall solid writing style.

Quality

I love the quality of The University Kid. Every post, no matter what it covers, is written with quality in mind. This is very important to me. If I am going to read a blog on a regular basis, the content should be of high quality. After all, I don’t want to waste my time if I have no chance of learning anything. For an idea of what I am talking about, read the post “How to Make Instant Niche Money.” This post is well written, and most importantly, full of quality information that every reader can put to good use.

Length

The aforementioned post was a bit longer than 1,000 words. Is this too long for a blog post? In some cases, the answer is yes. But guess what? You will not get the impression that this is a long post as you read through it. In fact, I was surprised to find that it was more than 1,000 words. That being said, not all posts at The University Kid are this long. You will find that many are in the 500 word range; and there is nothing wrong with this.

Focus

The tagline of this blog is: Dreaming of Money in Class. After reading a few posts on this blog you will easily notice that it is devoted to the many ways that you can make money online. But unlike many blogs in this niche, Pereira backs up his posts with real life information. Take for example a recent post, “The Live Site Flip.” In this experiment, Pereira is going to show readers how to create a niche website and in turn sell it for a decent amount of money; he is hoping for at least $500 from the sale.

Frequency

As I have mentioned many times before, the best blogs are those that are updated daily. The University Kid offers at least one new post per day. Even when Pereira is out of town and unable to blog, he makes sure that guest bloggers are lined up in order to keep things fresh. The frequency alone is one of the biggest benefits of becoming a daily reader.

The University Kid has quickly become one of my favorite make money online blogs. The content is full of useful information and easy to read. If you are interested in reading quality posts on how to make money online, The University Kid is a blog that you should subscribe to.

Make Money Blogging: Don’t Forget the Content

Blogging is all the rage as of late. More people than ever before are using blogs as a way of making money online. That being said, for every successful blog there are hundreds that never earn a dime. While there are many reasons for this, one of the most common is a lack of quality content. Remember, the main component of any blog is content. Without this, nothing else matters.

Of course, there is a big difference between content and quality content. If you want readers to visit your blog and come back time after time, you need to give them a reason for doing so. This is where quality content comes into play. You should work hard to offer easy to read, useful content on a regular basis. I am a big believer that the best way to build a blog is to update it on a daily basis. Is this difficult? Yes, it can be. But if you want your blog to take off, updating it daily with quality content will definitely get you moving in the right direction.

Before all else, you need to learn what it means to update your blog with quality content. Some bloggers spend tons of money on a unique design, advertising, and much more. And while this is all well and good, without content you are more or less wasting your money. So before you get caught up in other details, make sure that your writing skills are up to par and that you are ready and willing to post content on a daily basis.

ThaCash.com Blog Content Review

After a couple of blog content reviews based around very popular blogs, I thought I would move onto one that is trying to become established. While it is hard to say where ThaCash.com will go from here, I figured I would review the content that has been posted thus far. Although the blog does not offer information on the owner, such as a name, this will not affect the review in the slightest. After all, we are looking at the content, right?

Readability

After reading over a few posts at ThaCash.com, there is one thing that I can say about its readability: it is on again off again. Some of the posts are well written, and others are lacking in areas such as grammar and sentence structure. This makes me wonder if there is more than one author on this blog? The posts that are readable offer some solid information, and were easy to get through. That being said, others, such as “This one is going to be real big” are difficult to read. Although the aforementioned is a short post, it was hard to move through without being thrown off by the poor structure and flow.

Quality

Just like the readability, the quality of ThaCash.com varies quite a bit as well. I found the most recent post “How about your Page Rank?” to offer some quality information. This is a hot topic of discussion in the blogosphere, and the author cashed in right away. But once again, if you go back a few weeks in the archives you will find some posts that are only a few sentences long and do not really offer quality information.

Length

One thing is for sure: the author of ThaCash.com does not like long blog posts. Even the longest posts as of late are only 250 words at the most. And while there is nothing wrong with short posts, it can be difficult to add a lot of quality in only a few words. Many of the posts do not even reach 100 words, which as mentioned above, has a negative effect on the overall quality of the blog.

Focus

While ThaCash.com focuses broadly on making money online, it covers a wide variety of topics within this niche. For instance, the three most recent posts are on the Google page rank update, how good content brings traffic, and audio and e-books. If ThaCash.com can continue to touch on many different subjects, while also adding depth to each post, the focus is moving in the right direction.

Frequency

One of the biggest issues that I have with ThaCash.com is the fact that new content is not posted on a regular basis. For instance, as of this writing, the last post was uploaded on July 29. Before that, posts were made on July 26, 24, and 18. Most bloggers who do not add content everyday opt for long posts when the time comes. As noted earlier, this is an area where ThaCash.com struggles. Not only are the posts short, but there are many days between them.

All in all, ThaCash.com has potential from a content point of view. The author needs to work a bit on his grammar and sentence structure. By doing this and staying on track with its current focus, the blog has a chance to move in the right direction.

Bloggingwords.com Goals

I have goals for all of my blogs, no matter the topic, and this one is no different. After all, if you do not have goals how are you going to know if you are moving in the right direction?

Generally speaking, I have one major goal for Bloggingwords.com at this time: I want to review the content of every blog on the 45n5 top 100 (and more) blogs list. At this time, there are 357 blogs with new ones being added each week. While it is a huge goal, once it is obtained, I feel that this blog will be in a good place. Every blog on the list is based around the make money online niche, which aligns perfectly with the focus of Bloggingwords.com.

How long will it take to achieve this goal? Well, if I complete one review per day, which is more than possible, the goal will be complete in a little more than one year. Of course, a lot of this depends on how many new blogs are added as time goes by. That being said, I am striving to reach this goal as quickly as possible.

Setting goals for a blog is never easy. Fortunately, the 45n5 list is going to make things easier on me. As long as I stay organized and move through the list, my goal will be reached soon enough and the result will be a comprehensive collection of content reviews of the top blogs in the make money online niche.

TylerCruz.com Blog Content Review

TylerCruz.com is “An internet entrepreneur’s journey to wealth.” The title pretty much sums up what this blog, authored by Tyler Cruz, is all about. Of course, you will never get the full feel for what TylerCruz.com has to offer until you begin to read through the content. From what I can tell over the past few months of reading this blog, Cruz focuses mainly on making money online. And while this niche is crowded, he does a great job attracting a nice readership thanks to useful content that is generally well written.

Readability

Simply put, the content on TylerCruz.com is easy to read. As you are probably well aware, it can be difficult to “dumb down” some topics within the make money online niche. That being said, Cruz does a great job doing so. Not only is the content easy to read, but in many cases, videos are also added in order to add even more detail. While I do not know much about video, I will say that I have found them to be a nice addition to the readability of the content.

Quality

You never have to worry about quality when reading TylerCruz.com. It is obvious to me that Cruz puts a lot of time into each post. Sure, there are some posts that are nothing more than quick updates, but even then, you can tell that they are well thought out. Take for example, the post “Affiliate Marketing Plunge: Month 2, Week 3.” This post details his experiences with PPC affiliate marketing. In addition to basic content, you will also notice a chart that details the dates, programs used, cost, profit, and ROI among other details. With high quality posts, you can’t lose. It is obvious that Cruz subscribes to this philosophy.

Length

The post mentioned above weighed in at just about 500 words. Personally, for a post of this nature, I feel that this is the perfect length. Of course, the chart adds to the reading time; but in a good way. That being said, there are quite a few posts on the blog that are close to 1,000 words. Fortunately for us readers, Cruz does a good job making sure that he does not ramble on and in turn put his audience to sleep. Even the longer posts, including reviews, are easy to read thanks to a simple yet interesting writing style.

Focus

If you are a regular reader of TylerCruz.com, you will know that most of the posts are based around making money online; but most does not mean all. Cruz also adds content on his personal life and the many contests he runs in addition to other topics. All in all, you can be rest assured that most of the content on this blog is going to be focused on making money online and other related topics. If this is something that you are interested in, you are in the right place.

Frequency

I love blogs that are updated at least once per day. Since TylerCruz.com is one of the blogs that I visit regularly, I get quite disappointed when there is a lapse in new content. As of late, Cruz has done a great job posting at least once per day. And with such high quality, one post is enough to keep me happy. There are some blogs that are “on again, off again” but this is not one of them. You can usually expect one new post per day, and if there is a break, do not expect it to last long. Cruz is definitely devoted to his blog!

As you can see, I strongly recommended TylerCruz.com due in large part to the quality of the content. For those of you who are interested in making money online, you should definitely read this blog on a regular basis.

Beyond the Rhetoric Blog Content Review

Beyond the Rhetoric is the official blog of fellow freelance writer Michael Kwan. This has always been one of my favorite blogs, and one of the main reasons for this is the quality of the content. Although Kwan is a freelance writer, he does not always stay within this niche when posting. That being said, it is safe to say that you will agree that Beyond the Rhetoric features some of the highest quality content in this niche of the blogosphere.

Readability

I believe that a blog’s readability is very important. If you cannot easily follow along with the posts and make sense of the content, there is no point in moving forward and becoming a regular reader. Luckily, this is not something that Beyond the Rhetoric struggles with. As mentioned above, Kwan is a freelance writer, and for this reason, you can be rest assured that each post is well put together and easy to follow. Even the posts that I do not understand are easy to follow. And from a reader’s point of view, this is a huge benefit.

Quality

Every post on Beyond the Rhetoric can be described as high quality. One of my favorite posts as of late is “Freelance Responsibility and Freedom.” The quality of this blog can be seen by dissecting this post. Kwan starts out with an attention grabbing introduction then dives into finer details that are backed up by personal experience. Although not the longest or most in-depth post this one is still of high quality. Some bloggers get caught thinking that long posts equal quality posts; this is simply not the case.

Length

Speaking of length, the aforementioned post comes in at 427 words. Personally, I like posts in this range; especially for this type of blog. I am of the thinking that many readers are busy, and a lot of them have a short attention span. For this reason, I feel that blog posts of 400 to 500 words are perfect. This is not always the case with this blog, and you will see this as you search through the archives. One thing that you will notice is that Kwan gets his point across without rambling on. Once again, this is a trait of a writer who knows his craft!

Focus

Kwan is a freelance writer, but he does not limit Beyond the Rhetoric to posts on this topic. Sure, you will find some posts pertaining to writing and the life of a freelancer. But that being said, he does a good job mixing in topics such as movie reviews and basic opinions on life. Jumping from one topic to the next is not always the best way to build a successful blog, but Kwan seems to be doing a great job. By offering high quality in each post, he can pull this off without any issue.

Frequency

Readers want to follow blogs that are updated on a regular basis. Kwan does a great job of making sure that Beyond the Rhetoric is always kept up to date with fresh content. A quick look at the blog will show you that Kwan keep a pace of one post per day. For most followers, this is the perfect frequency.

From a blog content perspective, Beyond the Rhetoric is a great choice. Michael Kwan posts high quality, easy to follow content on a daily basis. Does it get any better than that?

What is Bloggingwords.com?

Throughout my years of making money online, I have started quite a few blogs. With each one, I start with a post detailing what the blog is going to cover, the benefits to the reader, and much more.

So what is Bloggingwords.com all about? As you probably know, blogs are content based sites. Sure, images and videos are thrown in from time to time, but when it comes down to it a blog is mainly about the content that is posted.

While there are many blogs that review others, Bloggingwords.com is going to be a bit unique. How am I going to achieve this goal? Simply put, instead of reviewing every aspect of a blog I am going to focus only on the content. This will include everything from the readability to the accuracy and much more. Generally speaking, anything that has to do with the actual words is a detail that I am going to cover.

Are you going to focus on a specific niche? As a full-time freelance writer, the majority of blogs that I read are based around writing, making money online, internet marketing, and other related subjects. For this reason, I am going to stay within this “broad niche” for the time being. As you are probably well aware, there are thousands of successful blogs that fit into these categories, with many more being introduced day in and day out.

From here on out, you can expect at least one review per day. While it is hard to say what the future holds, I plan on each review being in the 500 word range when possible. Of course, this can change and will differ based on the blog’s content as well as many other variables.

To go along with reviews, I plan on discussing other blogging related topics while also offering contests to keep things fun and exciting.

All in all, that is a brief rundown of what Bloggingwords.com is going to offer. The bottom line is simple: my goal is to offer quality blog content reviews on a daily basis.
